Prof. Dr. Dr. H.C. Volker Wittberg

He is Vice-President for Research and Development at Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) - University of Applied Sciences Germany. FHM is based in Bielefeld and runs campus sites in Berlin, Bamberg, Köln, Frechen, Hannover, Rostock and Schwerin. His responsibility covers one of the biggest research units at private Universities in Germany. At the same time he is head of FHM-Center for Sustainable Governance and the National Center for Bureaucratic Cost Reduction.

For almost 20 years Volker Wittberg has been Professor for SME Management. His research centres on Global SME Management, administrative burden control and sustainability management. He has carried out studies in collaboration with Federal and Länder governments in Germany. Part of his research is EU-funded and was recognized at UN and OECD-conferences. On occasions he serves at Deutsche Bundestag and Länder Parliament committees.

He has published more than 50 papers and conference presentations, co-authored and edited a number of books and has been invited to give a wide range of international conference addresses. He serves on governmental and academic evaluation and accreditation committees. Besides this, Volker Wittberg has been Visiting Professor at the University of Gloucestershire (UK) for almost 10 years.
